Jun 10, 2015 (newstodate): According to the latest IATA statistics on the progress of e-AWB penetration, Nordic players have a long way to go to reach a global Top-10 position.
Among the 50 priority e-airports of origin for e-AWBs project 2015, ranked by e-AWB volume over the past 12 months, Copenhagen Airport is found as #35 with a penetration rate at 19.1 percent in April, and the only Nordic airport to be included on the list.
Among the Top-50 countries of origin, ranked by e-AWB volume within the past 12 months, Denmark is again leading in the Nordic region as #26, ahead of #32 Sweden, #34 Finland, #43 Iceland and finally #44, Norway.
Among the Top-50 airlines, ranked after the proportion of e-AWBs, Finnair takes the Nordic lead as #34, followed by #38 SAS and #40, Icelandair.
Among the forwarders on a global level, the league is led by DHL Global Forwarding, followed by Schenker, Panalpina, Expeditors, and UPS.
