Jun 23, 2015 (newstodate): The AP Moller-Maersk Group's logistics company, Damco did not have a buoyant year in 2014, seeing its position among the world's Top-25 airfreight companies down five steps, to #20 on the list prepared by consultant company Armstrong & Associates.
Damco's airfreight volumes actually dropped 16.2 percent, y-o-y, to 190,000 tonnes in 2014 in market that increased slightly by 0.4 percent through the year.
Damco thus secured the unwanted record of dropping the most positions on the list in 2014.
Topping the list as usual were DHL, K+N and DB Schenker that saw their airfreight volumes up by 2.6, 5.3 and 1.8 percent, respectively.
