Jun 17, 2015 (newstodate): With the loss to Menzies of the contract with Norwegian, its single largest customer in the Nordic markets, the handling company Aviator has gone through a major restructuring process.
Business activities have been concentrated in three three geographical units: UK, Norway, and DFS, a combined operative organisation for Denmark, Finland and Sweden.
UK will continue to be managed by Debbie Westlake, Per Wassberg will continue to be acting MD for the Norwegian operation, while Ole Brinks Andersen will be appointed MD for DFS following the successful re-organization of the Aviator Denmark.
In an interim period, DFS will however be managed by Jan Brunstedt, till now Aviator Sweden Country Manager, leaving Ole Brinks Andersen to focus on what Aviator calls "the current challenges in the Danish operations".
Under the new structure, Aviator has laid down the positions as country managers for Denmark, Finland and Sweden as the station managers will now report directly to the DFS managing director.
During the transition phase, Veijo Karosvuo will be Station Manager in Helsinki in parallel to his new Group position as Commercial Director, helping to generate business for the whole Group.
A recruitment process for a permanent Station Manager position in Finland has been initiated.
In Denmark, the good latest news from Aviator is the extension of the handling contracts with SWISS and Austrian at Copenhagen Airport for another three-year period.
