Jun 03, 2015 (newstodate): The Board of the Faroese carrier Atlantic Airways has appointed Johanna Bergi as new Atlantic Airways CEO.
Currently serving as Faroe Ship CEO, Ms Bergi will take up her new position on 1 September 2015, succeeding the carrier's current interim CEO Jorgen Holme who was installed on November 18, 2013, in a surprising move by the Board that abruptly sacked the CEO since 1995, Magni Arge, after disagreement over strategy.
With the new strategy in place since June 2014, the new CEO will take over its continued implementation and firm up decisions on the airline's future aircraft fleet including selecting a new aircraft type suitable for the short-range routes under the North-strategy.
Johanna Bergi will be Atlantic Airways fourth CEO since the carrier was founded on November 10, 1987 in a cooperation between the Faroese government and the Danish airline Cimber Air.
