May 26, 2015 (newstodate): Germany has seen the set up of a new airline company: Small Planet Airlines Gmbh.
The new company will be part of Lithuania's Small Planet Group that was established in April 2014 to allow for new business ventures in the form of subsidiaries in new markets, with Small Planet Thailand as the first project announced in December 2014, alongside Small Planet Airlines Poland and the "mother carrier" Small Planet Airlines in Lithuania.
Small Planet Airlines Germany will launch services from summer 2016 with Airbus A320 aircraft on an own AOC and managed by Andreas Wobig and Oliver Pawel, former Germania CEO and CCO.
To be based in Berlin with two Airbus A320 aircraft from the start, Small Planet Airlines has however already started offering its services to the German market with first agreements signed with "some well-known German tour operators".
