May 13, 2015 (newstodate): Cargo volumes dipped in April 2015 at Norway's Oslo Gardermoen Airport.
A total of 7,435 tonnes of cargo and mail was handled at the airport, a decline by 23 percent, y-o-y, which however to some degree reflects the impact of the Easter holidays by the start of the month.
Of the total, international cargo accounted for 6,371 tonnes which was down 10 percent, while domestic cargo was also down by seven percent, to 548 tonnes in April.
During the first four months of 2015 Oslo Airport has thus handled a total of 38,115 tonnes of cargo and mail, a decline by 8.7 percent, y-o-y, primarily due to a drop in international cargo by five percent, to 28,951 tonnes.
One reason behind the decline in international cargo at Oslo Airport in 2015 is the pull-out from the airport by Asiana Cargo from the end of February 2015, reflecting in an immediate drop in volumes from March 2015.
Starting from July 2007, Asiana Cargo was on-line at Sweden's Gothenburg Landvetter Airport with one weekly call on the return flight from Vienna to Incheon, South Korea, later moving this operation to Oslo Gardermoen from September 7, 2012, with two weekly flights.
