May 18, 2015 (newstodate): An Armenian carrier Taron Avia is building up its fleet of Boeing 737-500 aircraft.
Based at Yerevan Erebouni Airport, the carrier was first set up in 2007 aiming at passenger and cargo flights to Russia and the CIS region.
After a period of hibernation, the carrier is now again taking to the skies and plans to lease two to four Boeing 737-500 aircraft from the leasing company AerCap.
The aircraft will be put on the ACMI market.
Taron Avia, mainly staffed by ex-Armavia employees, is fully-owned and managed by Garnik Papikyan.
