May 19, 2015 (newstodate): The privately-owned Iranian carrier Mahan Air is building up its long-haul fleet and expanding its route network with a spree of new international flights.
Latest announcement from the carrier reveals that Mahan Air is to launch services during the period May 14 to June 23, 2015, to Bahrain, Moscow Vnukovo, St Petersburg, Sochi, Athens, and Milan.
But plans have also been revealed for flights from Tehran to Stockholm, Copenhagen, Tokyo, Birmingham, and London, while launch dates have yet to be announced.
Also in the pipeline are flights from Mashhad to New Delhi, in India.
Recently, the carrier has taken delivery of no less than seven A340-600, one A340-300 and one A321-100 aircraft through intermediaries including an Iraqi carrier, Al-Naser Airlines.
