May 12, 2015 (newstodate): Norway's second-largest cargo airport Stavanger Sola Airport saw its international cargo volumes up by 40 percent, y-o-y, in April 2015.
A total of 286 tonnes of int'l cargo was handled at the airport, but domestic cargo dropped 9.3 percent to 91 tonnes, and mail volumes, domestic and international, were also down, so all combined cargo and mail was up 8.2 percent at the airport, to 503 tonnes in April.
After Qatar Air's decision to pull out from this spring and moving its freighter service instead to Oslo Gardermoen, Lufthansa Cargo is now alone in providing freighter traffic at Stavanger, with a weekly Boeing 777F freighter service at Stavanger since November 8, 2014, flying in from Houston and continuing to Frankfurt.
