May 21, 2014 (newstodate): Reportedly to be announced today, the Latvian carrier airBaltic will be the first carrier to fly into Poland's Radom-Sadkow Airport.
Now a joint military/civil airport, Radom-Sadkow Airport was officially opened for commercial traffic only in May 2014, but has still not been able to attract airline operators.
Polish media report that airBaltic may be offering three weekly rotations from September 2015 on the route between Riga and Radom, using Bombardier Q400 aircraft, but so far no official confirmation has been announced.
Radom Airport in southern Poland has completed a comprehensive modernization process including resurfacing of its 2,000 m runway, a new passenger terminal, new NAVAID systems and airfield lighting, and has now been fully certified by ICAO standards to receive both domestic and future international flights.
