May 13, 2015 (newstodate): Icelandair has announced its return of services from Iceland to Chicago.
Starting from March 16, 2016, the carrier will offer three weekly rotations on the route served with Boeing 757-200 aircraft.
Icelandair was last online to Chicago till October 1988 when the route was served with DC-8 aircraft.
Icelandair will thus be flying to 15 destinations in North America including Boston, Washington D.C., New York (JFK og Newark), Orlando, Minneapolis, Denver, Seattle, Anchorage, Portland (from May 19, 2015) and Chicago (from March 2016) in the USA as well as Toronto, Halifax, Vancouver and Edmonton in Canada.
As earlier reported, Icelandair is also mulling plans for flights to a new destination in Canada: Montreal, while this has still not been confirmed by the carrier.
