May 20, 2015 (newstodate): Greenland's start-up carrier Greenland Express has decided for the Let-410 aircraft for its planned domestic flights in Greenland.
The Let L-410 Turbolet is a twin-engine short-range transport aircraft, manufactured by the Czech aircraft manufacturer LET, mostly used for passenger transport and since 1969 built in more than 1,100 units.
With a range about 1,380 km, the aircraft will carry 19 passengers or up to 1,700 kg of cargo and can operate at small airports with short runways.
It remains to be seen if the aircraft actually to be operated by Greenland Express may be a new, upgraded version, Let-410NG - more powerful with General Electric H80 engines offering an MTOW increase, payload increase, enlarged front luggage compartment as a result of aircraft nose prolongation and a new wing structure with integral fuel tanks enhancing the aircraft's fuel capacity.
