May 11, 2015 (newstodate): For positive news on cargo loads in April 2015, Finnair Cargo should be content with the fact that its crucial Asian traffic loads dropped only 0.7 percent, y-o-y, to 6,706 tonnes.
Volumes on all other segments were down, with N Atlantic loads dropping the most by 29.3 percent to 580 tonnes, while European loads were also down by 14.1 percent to 1,840 tonnes.
After the stop to freighter operations by the end of 2014, this volume carried by JAL was also down by 63.7 percent, to 1,067 tonnes.
Total volumes generated by Finnair Cargo were 10,233 tonnes in April, down 19.2 percent.
In the first four months of 2015, the company carried 40,663 tonnes of cargo, a decline by 15.1 percent, y-o-y, primarily due to the shortfall by 57 percent of freighter cargo to 5,276 tonnes, while cargo on scheduled passenger flights was down only 0.6 percent, to 35,387 tonnes.
