Apr 27, 2015 (newstodate): Starting from April 24, 2015, the Hungarian LCC Wizz Air is in the air between Malmo, in southern Sweden, and Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania.
The carrier is starting out with two Airbus A320 weekly rotations on the route that will also attract low-cost passengers from the neighboring Danish capital area around Copenhagen.
The new route will thus compete against SAS that is already operating several daily flights between Copenhagen and Vilnius with smaller CRJ900 aircraft.
In the Danish market, Air Lituanica is also offering flights between Vilnius and Billund, in the country's western region where most of the Danish industries are located.
