Apr 21, 2015 (newstodate): March 215 was still marked by positive growth in cargo volumes at Norway's Stavanger Lakselv Airport - but statistics will turn sour as from April.
The airport handled a total of 603 tonnes of cargo in March, up 14.3 percent, y-o-y.
And during Q1, a total of 1,918 tonnes of cargo passed through the airport, an increase by 17.5 percent, y-o-y.
But with the suspension during - at least - the summer schedule of Qatar Airways' Airbus A330-200F freighter flying in since November 3, 2014, from Brussels on its return trip to Doha via Stavanger Airport, only Lufthansa Cargo now remains with a weekly Boeing 777F at Stavanger as an en-route stop on its flight from Houston to Frankfurt, connecting the two leading off-shore oil & gas destinations in the USA and Norway since November 8, 2014, and providing options for transfer of export cargo from Norway.
So far, Lufthansa Cargo has no plans for discontinuing its weekly call at Stavanger Lakselv Airport.
