Apr 13, 2015 (newstodate): The new carrier soon to lift off on routes connecting Denmark and Greenland has now received approval to offer also domestic feeder flights in Greenland.
The carrier will launch services on routes from Billund to Greenland's two Atlantic airports at Kangerlussuaq and Narsarsuaq from May 11, 2015, and a domestic route network will offer passengers feeder connections with turboprop aircraft to and from Nuuk, Upernavik, Ilullisat, Aasiaat, Sisimiut, Manitsoq, and Paamiut, as well as helicopter services to small hamlets in South Greenland.
As matters stand now, the feeder flights will commence by the end of August 2015 with aircraft types yet to be revealed.
The Transatlantic flights will be performed with Airbus A320 aircraft offering two weekly rotations to Kangerlussuaq, and two flights to Narsarsuaq, in both cases one flight will operate directly from Billund and the other from Billund via Copenhagen.
