Apr 14, 2015 (newstodate): Based on OAG-figures, Lithuania's Vilnius Airport grew the most during 2010-2014 among airports in Eastern Europe.
The airport saw its passenger volumes up by no less than 94.4 percent, although from a comparatively low base, compared to Nr 2 on the list Moscow Sheremetyevo International Airport, up 63 percent during the period.
The growth at Vilnius Airport has also bee nspurred by the launch of services by the country's new carrier, Air Lituanica that performed its first commercial flight on June 30, 2013, on the route between Vilnius and Brussels.
