Apr 16, 2015 (newstodate): A new cargo handling terminal is to be constructed at Sweden's Gothenburg Landvetter Airport.
Driving the project is DHL Express that plans for start of construction works from this spring already, with the 7,500 sq m terminal to be commissioned in Spring 2016.
Today, DHL Express is operating five weekly Airbus A300 freighter flights from Leipzig to Gothenburg, continuing to Stavanger in Norway.
The airport has otherwise seen its cargo volumes decreasing as Asiana Cargo moved its twice-weekly Boeing 747-400F freighter flights since September 7, 2012, to Oslo Gardermoen, while Emirates also stopped its freighter rotations by Emirates SkyCargo from July 1, 2014, consolidating all Scandinavian freighter operations at Copenhagen Airport, in Denmark.
