Apr 17, 205 (newstodate): Ethiopian Airlines may be mulling plans for returning direct flights on the route between Addis Abeba and Copenhagen from autumn 2015.
So far only media reports citing industry sources are supporting the notion, but a return by the carrier to Copenhagen Airport would enhance transfer connectivities on the European network of SAS and other alliance partners.
If rumors turn facts, indications are that an announcement by Ethiopian Airlines and Copenhagen Airport is imminent.
Ethiopian Airlines first launched services to Scandinavia in 2001 with flights to Copenhagen Airport, Denmark, but moved services to Stockholm in Sweden from October 28, 2003, mainly to tap the large ethnic market in this country.
Since October 26, 2014, the carrier has been operating four weekly flights on the route from Addis Abeba to Stockholm via Vienna, using Boeing 767-300ER aircraft on all flights.
