Apr 09, 2015 (newstodate): In March 2015, Finnair Cargo saw its total cargo volumes down by 16 percent, y-o-y, to 11,299 tonnes.
Except for volumes on the North American routes that were up by 3.5 percent to 770 tonnes, the decline was seen in all other segments, notably on the crucial Asian traffic that dipped by three percent to 6,843 tonnes in March.
As Finnair has stopped own freighter traffic, the only cargo beyond the pax flights is carried by Japan Air Lines' four weekly Boeing 787 flights, which accounted for 1,736 tonnes.
During the first quarter of 2015 the airline has seen its total cargo volumes down by 13.6 percent, y-o-y, to 30,430 tonnes, with the Asian traffic accounting for 18,658 tonnes, up 2.5 percent.
The load factor on the Asian traffic was also down by eight percentage-points in Q1, to 54.2 percent.
