Apr 23, 2015 (newstodate): While snags in the process towards launch of scheduled services by Greenland Express have so far mainly been due to the carrier itself, the latest delay seems to be due to procedural flaws in the Danish CAA.
According to the Greenland paper AG, the head of the CAA division handling the issue, Per Schmock, confirms that a completion of the issue has dragged out while having to explanation to offer.
-I would not admit that we have failed but on the other hand I would not claim that this has been handled excellently, he says.
In the meantime, Greenland Express is alarmed by the situation that prevents the carrier to lift off on May 11, 2015, as planned.
-We have an ACMI contract to fulfill, entailing heavy costs without any revenues while the projects is still grounded. Add to this the sustained damage to our reputation and the loss of confidence by customers in the market, says Gert Brask, Greenland Express CEO.
