Mar 17, 2015 (newstodate): Merging two cargo handling terminals with three offices into one unit as in the case of WFS' take-over of Swissport at Denmark's Copenhagen Airport is no small feat.
-It has indeed proved to be a challenging process, but we are firmly on the road and determined to clear all snags to keep up with our customers' expectations, says Thomas Petersen, WFS Denmark station manager.
-From February 1, 2015, we closed the office at Terminal 3, consolidating our staff at Terminal 1, and this has of course caused some confusion among truck drivers delivering and picking up shipments there. Despite much effort, this problem has not been entirely eliminated.
-The next important milestone will be the final closing of Terminal 3 by the end of May 2015, after which all outstanding issues should be finally solved and the joint operation based on firm grounds.
-We are, however, of course not leaning back until then. Instead we are working intensely on securing quality on a daily basis to make sure that our customers remain satisfied and that all issues are dealt with.
-But I will admit that our current level of quality does indeed require a sustained lift and we are committed to meet this challenge, says Mr Petersen.
In total the joint WFS/Swissport business now employs some 170 staff including 35 in the office.
