Mar 26, 2015 (newstodate): Sweden's Jonkoping Airport saw its total cargo and mail volumes down by two percent, y-o-r, in 2014.
The decline was, however, driven by a steep fall in mail volumes to 865 tonnes, down no less than 28 percent.
International cargo saw an increase by eight percent to 3,190 tonnes carried by TNT on routes between Brussels, Billund, Oslo and Helsinki.
Since April 10, 2012, TNT has also been cooperating with Farnair operating an ATR 42-300 freighter on behalf of time:matters, carrying shipments from Baden Airpark, the airport serving Karlsruhe in Germany, to Jonkoping Airport and continuing to Billund Airport, in Denmark.
-This far into 2015 we are seeing a slight decrease in the volume of international cargo while mail volumes have actually risen somewhat, says Hermann Larsson, Jonkoping Airport marketing manager.
In the charter traffic the airport saw volumes up by 68 percent in 2014, to 67,371 passengers, and in 2015 the airport has seen the launch of a scheduled service by Lufthansa/BMI to Frankfurt with two daily rotations.
