Mar 13, 2015 (newstodate): Today is the closing date for handing in bids in the tender for postal flights in Sweden.
After the closing of the tender, Sweden's Postnord will evaluate the bids aiming at announcing the winner after a 30 days period.
Post Sweden launched a tender for postal flights in November 2014, with the process to be completed within a month - but the tender was called off due to insufficient tender documents causing a new tendering to be opened.
The tender will comprise about 180 departures every week, requiring 14 aircraft to serve 12 airports, and with provisions for bidders to sub-contract parts of the total network to other parties to secure the optimal match between specific airports and aircraft types.
Post Sweden operated its own carrier, Falcon Air until 2006 when the flights were taken over by Amapola that has held the lead contract for postal flights since then
