Mar 18, 2015 (newstodate): SAS Cargo is readying to roll out its advanced booking portal covering the entire spectrum from booking to billing.
-The new portal will go live first in Scandinavia from next week, to be followed by USA and Asia thereafter, says Leif Rasmussen, SAS Cargo CEO.
-The new portal will integrate data from all databases in our system, allowing a forwarder to place a booking, receive information on space availability, rates and all pertinent issues, and generate an immediate confirmation. The forwarder can chose between issuance of a paper AWB or an e-AWB, and at the end of the full process the billing will be processed automatically and entered into the accounting systems.
-If the forwarder has a special agreement with SAS Cargo as identified by his IATA number, the rates and information presented will of course be those individually agreed upon, and he can monitor his allotment to see how much of this has been utilized and how much remains.
-With the new portal, our customers will be spared much effort to search individual sources for information, speeding up the process and saving on time, says Mr Rasmussen.
Prior to the launch, SAS Cargo has been testing the portal with selected forwarders over a six-month period to secure a safe introduction.
