Mar 19, 2015 (newstodate): Bad weather, unplanned aircraft maintenance and strikes make an unpleasant world for airline operations.
According to several Danish freight forwarders, SAS Cargo has experienced a period with a decline in quality such as short-shipped cargo and other irregularities.
-There is basically no problem with the quality of SAS Cargo, says Leif Rasmussen, SAS Cargo managing director.
-We have indeed had our share of the plights generally facing airline operations this winter, not least due to the harsh meteorological conditions in North America, which understandably created unforeseen difficulties in getting aircraft in and out of the airports and leaving much cargo piling up in wait for uplift.
-Also, the recent strike took a toll on SAS Cargo's regularity, and we have also experienced some unplanned aircraft maintenance works.
-All in all, this has been a challenging period, but we have managed to get back to normal very quickly and have fully regained our high score in quality parameters. So we have no quality problems at SAS Cargo, says Mr Rasmussen.
