Mar 25, 2015 (newstodate): Russia and Hong Kong have finalized a treaty granting 5th freedom rights to Russian carriers operating at Hong Kong's airport.
Under the treaty, Russian carriers operating on routes to Hong Kong may perform commercial traffic also between Hong Kong and other foreign destinations.
Under the treaty, Russian carriers may thus carry commercial loads between Hong Kong and Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Almaty, Seoul and Hanoi, with up to three flights per week.
Russian carriers may also sell cargo capacity on routes between Hong Kong and Anchorage with up to five weekly flights.
The new freedom rights will especially benefit the Russian cargo cargo carrier AirBridgeCargo that is operating flights to Hong Kong from Moscow, Khabarovsk and Yekaterinburg.
