Mar 13, 2015 (newstodate): On March 16, 2015, Boeing and Copenhagen Airport will officially inaugurate Boeing's new aircraft maintenance center at Copenhagen Airport.
Taking part in the opening ceremony will be the US ambassador to Denmark, top executives from Boeing's commercial and military aircraft divisions as well as the management of Copenhagen Airport.
In September 2014, Boeing rented 7,500 sq m of a 12,000 sq m hangar complex, originally built for Sterling Airways, at Copenhagen Airport aiming at setting up a Boeing GoldCare center offering engineering support, IT support, materials management and other optional services for Boeing 787, Boeing 737NG and Boeing 747 customers.
The hangar is now owned by M. Goldschmidt Aviation that is itself active in the business jet aviation segment with a subsidiary in Copenhagen.
The MRO center at Copenhagen Airport is operated in cooperation with the Monarch Group's Monarch Aircraft Engineering, one of only six worldwide Boeing-approved GoldCare providers, and the logistics provider DSV Air & Sea.
