Mar 02, 2015 (newstodate): Iceland's Keflavik International Airport put the production of a new 2015-2040 masterplan on tender - and the winner has now been named: Nordic - Office of Architecture of Oslo, Norway.
Other participants in the tender process were INECO Ingenierta Y Economia del Transporte SA, Ramboll A/S, Naco Netherlands Airport Consultants, EC Harris LLP and Mott MacDonald LTD.
The design proposed includes a northward extension of the current terminal facility and a future north-south parallel runway.
Nordic will continue work on refining the design concept in cooperation with Isavia and stakeholders, while COWI Consultants of Denmark will provide project support.
