Mar 18, 2015 (newstodate): The Lithuanian charter and ACMI carrier Small Planet Airlines will meet the coming summer traffic with its largest aircraft fleet ever.
-Besides the planned growth of fleet to 16 aircraft, we are adding another two Airbus A320 from this summer on a special contract with Libya's Afriqiyah Airways, says Vytautas Kaikaris, Small Planet Airlines CEO.
-Due to the unstable situation in the country, the Libyan carrier has decided to place these aircraft on a safe contract with us and added to our AOC.
-These Libyan aircraft will be used on European flights during the summer period, and the contract covers a two-year period. Of course, Afriqiyah Airways will wish to return them to services on flights between Libya and Europe when conditions allow, says Mr Kaikaris.
Small Planet Airlines was first commissioned by Afriqiyah Airways in spring 2014 to operate its daily flights from Tripoli to Dusseldorf, London Gatwick and Paris CDG on a two-month contract.
