Mar 25, 2015 (newstodate): With its planned launch date May 11, 2015, fast approaching, Greenland Express is seeing bits and pieces falling into place.
The airline has confirmed the lease of one Airbus A320 aircraft to be delivered by end of April/early May 2015, and already now a further A320 lease is under consideration while a final decision has not yet been made.
Bookings are already streaming in, boosted by attractive sales campaigns including hitherto unseen low rates for flights between Billund Airport and Kangerlussuaq and Narsarsuaq in Greenland.
Still pending, however, is the decision by Greenland's government to allow Greenland Express to launch domestic flights in Greenland to feed traffic to and from the two Atlantic airports, and Greenland Express is also awaiting the outcome of its application with the Canadian authorities to launch flights between Greenland and "two large destinations" in Canada.
