Mar 24, 2015 (newstodate): Greenland Airports managing Greenland's airport and heliports ended 2014 with a slight surplus - not least thanks to increased income from ETOPS flights over the island.
Greenland Airports has landed a contract with an international partner to keep its Atlantic airporst at Kangerlussuaq and Narsarsuaq open for ETOPS flight operations requiring alternate airport options, and the volume from this business provided a neat surplus in 2014.
In 2014, the volume of registered ETOPS operations over Greenland more than doubled, causing an increase in ETOPS-driven charges from openings of the two airports by 17 percent.
