Mar 16, 2015 (newstodate): The Chinese carrier Air China is planning for a new route to Belarus and Hungary in Europe.
Starting from May 1, 2015, the carrier will launch flights on a new triangular route Beijing-Minsk-Budapest-Beijing.
Air China will serve the new route four times weekly with an Airbus A330-200 aircraft.
With the new route, Air China will be back in Budapest that was served with a direct flight until three years ago.
On August 2, 2004, another Chinese carrier, Hainan Airlines started Boeing 767-300 services three times weekly on the route in a cooperation with the now defunct Hungarian carrier Malev aiming to set up Budapest as a joint Central European passenger and cargo hub.
After Malev's bankruptcy, Hainan Airlies left Hungary again in 2012. leaving the route in a void.
