Mar 13, 2015 (newstodate): Sweden's Gothenburg Landvetter Airport is seeing its role dwindling in the country's airfreight industry due to a sharp decline in traffic.
In February 2015 the total volumes of cargo handled at the airport was only 824 tonnes, against 1,740 one year earlier, and up to 2,216 tonnes in February 2013.
From the start of 2014, Emirates reduced its freighter services at the airport from three to two weekly rotations and pulled out entirely from July 1, 2014, moving all Scandinavian freighter flights to Copenhagen instead.
Prior to that, Asiana also left Gothenburg Landvetter from September 7, 2012.
