Mar 06, 2015 (newstodate): Opening for business only on January 5, 2015, the new Danish aircraft broker company Blackbird Air Charter is already on budget and engaged in several business cases.
-We do follow tenders, but our prime attention is focused on developing and maintaining a close dialogue with potential customers to present our services, benefiting from a joint aviation experience of more than 40 years, says Ole Christiansen, Blackbird Air Charter CEO, with HQs at Vejle in western Denmark.
-We offer air broker services in the cargo, passenger and business/VIP segments alike, and except for very few niches we are of course up against often large global competitors. In contrast to these, we are a small team of currently three aviation specialists - but we do consider this one of our major assets as we offer a personalized approach to customers that can be sure of having one dedicated partner who will take care of their business from start to end, 24/7.
-Another crucial asset for Blackbird Air Charter is the fact that our financial background closely associated with a major Danish Clothing Conglomerate enables us to act immediately on customer requests without having to involve external banks or financial sources. We can sign an aircraft charter contract on the spot and without delays.
-And we have indeed come off to a good start. On March 2 we were assigned by a major Danish forwarder to secure an urgent shipment of a crucial spare part for the oil & gas industry by chartering an AN-12 from Billund, Denmark, to Angola.
-And only the next day we were contracted to charter one Boeing 737 and one Airbus A320 to bring back skiers from Val Thorens to Denmark and Sweden as the road was blocked by a huge landslide.
-All in all, we are flying high already and modestly expect to add one or two more staff to our company during our first two years of operation, says Mr Christiansen.
Besides Mr Christiansen, the management team also comprises Jesper Dalgaard Petersen, COO, and Soren Bugge, CCO.
On the Board of the new company are other experienced people from the logistics and aviation businesses including Mogens Ellerbaek, former Executive VP at DSV and Peter Damsboe, former Regional Director at DSV Air & Sea A/S.
