Mar 04, 2015 (newstodate): Greenland Express has now opened for bookings on its flights during the coming summer season.
In the new schedule, the virtual carrier Greenland Express will be operating a leased Airbus A320 aircraft on flights between Greenland and Denmark offering four weekly rotations.
In contrast to its earlier attempt in 2014, Greenland Express has decided to operate in Denmark out of Billund Airport instead of Aalborg Airport, in addition to flights at Copenhagen Airport.
The first flight now is slated for May 11, 2015.
Two weekly rotations will connect to Kangerlussuaq, and two other flights will connect to Narsarsuaq, in both cases one flight will be directly from Billund and the other from Billund via Copenhagen.
Greenland Express is yet to announce the operator of the Airbus aircraft to be used on the route.
Another attempt to set up a new carrier in Greenland is Aluu Airlines that has, however, been forced to postpone its planned launch of flights from June 1, 2015, till a later date, pending approval of its AOC application by the Danish Civil Aviation Authority.
