Mar 17, 2015 (newstodate): Armenia's strategy for reestablishing an own national carrier after the demise of Armavia is still limping ahead.
Hopes are focused on a successful restart of Air Armenia that was however forced to suspend its activities in October 2014 allegedly due to low demands in the market.
Plans were then to take to the air again from the end of December 2014 which proved to be overly optimistic.
After a fresh injection of cash brought in by East Prospect Fund, based on Ukrainian capital, plans were next to start again from the second half of this month.
This timeline has now again been pushed to May 2015, reports say.
Air Armenia currently operates one Airbus A320 and one Boeing 737-500 aircraft but plans to expand to five aircraft from this summer.
