Mar 06, 2015 (newstodate): As part of its fleet planning, Air Greenland is now phasing out its last three remaining Dash-7 aircraft used by the airline since 1979.
The carrier has sold the three aircraft to the Canadian airline Trans Capital Air, based at Toronto and already the operator of nine similar aircraft on flights primarily contracted by UN organizations and NGOs.
The first delivery to the new owner will take place already today, with the second to follow by next momth, and the last to leave Air Greenland by October 2015.
Air Greenland is instead turning to Dash-8 operations, with five aircraft currently in the fleet that will receive a further two Dash-8 aircraft before the end of this year, completing the fleet modernization.
On its Transatlantic route, the carrier operates one Airbus A330-200 aircraft since 2003.
