Feb 12, 2015 (newstodate): Serbia is to reorganize its airport infrastructure in 2015.
Plans are to set up one unified airport management company to comprise some 20 airports around the country, with Belgrade Airport taking the driver's seat.
The new state-owned company, Airports of Serbia will be announced shortly, most probably by April 2015.
The move coincides with the ongoing tender process for Belgrade Airport, and the winner of this tender will thus gain control over all airports in the country by a single move.
Given Etihad's recent 49 percent acquisition of Serbia's national carrier Air Serbia, chances are high that investors from Abu Dhabi stand a fair chance of winnning the Belgrade Airport tender as well.
