Feb 02, 2015 (newstodate): Cargo GSA AviationPlus is seeing brisk and growing business with its largest airline customer, Norwegian.
-For us, the limit for growth seems to be only the capacity in terms of aircraft and frequencies by Norwegian in the three Scandinavian markets where we represent the carrier in cargo sales, says Agnes Lindberg, AviationPlus Managing Director Sweden.
-Norwegian is currently offering 11 weekly Boeing 787 Dreamliner flights out of Stockholm, nine out of Denmark and 12 out of Oslo - and we have honestly little problems in filling them all up with cargo.
-Today, Norwegian connects Scandinavia directly with both New York JFK, Miami, Los Angeles, Orlando and Oakland in the US market and Bangkok in Thailand.
-Norwegian's cargo product is offered mainly point to point. There are however interline agreements with for instance Amerijet to connect the Florida flights to Caribbean and South America. And in the US market, Norwegian is connected to destinations on the east and west coast alike by an extensive cargo trucking network providing fast and scheduled onward transportation.
-So far, Norwegian is only offering a single general cargo product, but plans are underway for launch of a new express product. No details on this are, however, available today.
-With offices in Stockholm, Malmo, Oslo and Copenhagen we are in the market for both ad-hoc shipments, but the portfolio of long-term commitments is also growing with customers including several of our largest exporters including Volvo, Ericsson and ABB.
-So the market has proved its confidence in Norwegian's cargo services and we have high expectations for sustained strong growth in 2015, says Ms Lindberg.
