Feb 12, 2015 (newstodate): Year 2015 started with a decline in cargo volumes at Norway's Oslo Gardermoen Airport.
A total of 9,724 tonnes of cargo and mail was handled at the airport, a drop by 10.9 percent, y-o-y.
International cargo was down 13.2 percent to 6,938 tonnes, while domestic cargo dropped 16 percent to 561 tonnes.
International mail volumes were also down by eight percent to 482 tonnes in January 2015.
Avinor's statistics exclude trucked cargo, counting only flown cargo at Oslo Gardermoen Airport. And much cargo is trucked, not least the country's large volumes of seafood exports that are lifted out from Continental airports
