Feb 06, 2015 (newstodate): By January 1, 2015, Turkish Airlines Cargo commissioned a new cargo handling terminal at Istanbul Ataturk Airport.
The new facility has an annual capacity of handling 1.2 mio tonnes of cargo at 43,000 sq m including 3.000 sq m dedicated to special cargo and a special ULD storage area of 400 sq m.
39 special storage areas are dedicated to handling and storage of cold storage, live animals, dangerous goods, vulnerable cargo, valuable cargo and radioactive shipments.
Turkish Cargo provides connections to production and commercial centers across the globe with a network of more than 260 destinations in 108 countries, currently served by nine freighters with 48 destinations and 253 passenger aircraft.
