Feb 20, 2015 (newstodate): Montenegro Airlines may be next in line for acquisition by Etihad.
According to a media in Montgenegro, hi-level talks are currently being conducted in Abu Dhabi focusing on a code-share agremeent between the two carriers as a first step towards a closer cooperation.
Montgenegro has made several attempts to privatize its carrier, first in 2010 and again in 2011, but eventually failed to land a binding offer.
Etihad, however, launched a screening process of Montenegro Airlines in 2014 and this may now lead to the first steps in a deepening cooperation between the two airlines and a future equity-sharing.
