Feb 18, 2015 (newstodate): Finnair Cargo expects to become one of the world's first airlines to complete IATA's pharmaceutical certification process by June 2015.
The process was earlier anticipated to be completed by early 2015, but according to the carrier there was some uncertainty over the timelines as the process was launched.
On August 19, 2014, the kick-off of the BRUcargo pharma certification program took place together with the IATA project team and the 11 participating companies including Brussels Airlines Cargo, Finnair Cargo, Aviapartner, Swissport, WFS, AD Handling, BPL, Expeditors, UTi, SDV, and the trucking company Jan de Rijk.
-Right now we are busy verifying and documenting our processes as well as compiling relevant training materials, says Milla Nyholm, Finnair Cargo Marketing Manager.
Brussels Zaventem Airport has served as Finnair Cargo's 2nd European hub since April 2013, and the carrier has a special focus on the region's pharma cluster comprising several of Europe's leading pharmaceutical industries that rely on air services for their logistics.
