Feb 13, 2015 (newstodate): Air cargo volumes handled at Finland's Helsinki Airport took a dip in the first month of this year.
A total of 12,304 tonnes of cargo and mail was handled at the airport, a drop by eight percent, y-o-y.
The decline was primarily due to a fall in international cargo volumes, down 8.1 percent to 11,130 tonnes.
Finnair Cargo's over-all drop in volumes by 17.1 percent, y-o-y, certainly did leave a mark on the performance of its main hub at Helsinki, while Turkish Airlines Cargo probably draw in the opposite, and positive, direction with now three weekly freighter calls at the airport since June 2014.
Since the turn of this year, Finnair Cargo has stopped all own freighter operations, last serving Hong Kong with a weekly freighter call.
