Feb 02, 2015 (newstodate): Billund Airport opened 2015 with a slight increase in cargo volumes in January.
A total of 5,316 tonnes of cargo was handled at the airport, an increase by 8.5 percent, y-o-y.
This included 3,572 tonnes of exports that were up 14.8 percent, and 1,744 tonnes of imports that were down by 2.5 percent, y-o-y.
Imports that have for a long period been in decline thus showed signs of recovery, mainly due to the resumption of five weekly Boeing 757-200F rotations from Leipzig by DHL Express since January 12, 2015.
