Dec 07, 2015 (newstodate): The Russian carrier Kogalymavia, trading under the name of Metrojet, has suspended all flight operations.
The decision reflects the effects on the carrier from the recent downing of its Airbus A321 shortly after the take-off from the Egyptian resort, Sharm el-Sheik on October 31, 2015, where all 224 lives on board were lost.
No blame has been put on the airline's crews, equipment, aircraft or procedures, but the harm done has forced the management to re-think the airline's future.
Also the closure of flight operations by Russian carriers to Turkey has added to the plights of the airline.
So far, all operations have been suspended till summer 2016.
