Dec 17, 2015 (newstodate): The Russian carrier Komiaviatrans, based in Russia's Komi Republic, has obtained a license from the Russian Ministry of Transportation to open flights to international destinations, including Europe.
According to Estonian media, the Russian minister has named Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Tallinn and Baku as new potential destinations to be added to the carrier's network.
So far, the carrier is operating regional flights from Syktyvkar in Komi to a number of Russian destinations with a fleet comprising four Embraer ERJ145 aircraft, but an expansion into Europe would require the lease of another two similar aircraft.
