Dec 21, 2015 (newstodate): Among the carriers queuing up to launch flights services from, Europe to Iran is now also one Polish contender.
In November 2015, LOT applied for designation as the carrier to launch flights between Warsaw and Tehran in accordance with the existing air services agreement from 1999 between the authorities of the two countries.
Applications for this designation were to be on the desk of the Polish authorities by December 16, 2015, and LOT seems to be the only applicant.
Already in July this year, the Polish Foreign Ministry aired its desire for direct air services with Iran.
