Dec 01, 2015 (newstodate): The Turkish LCC Pegasus Airlines is soon to launch flights on a new route to Turkmenistan.
Following negotiations between the airline and Turkmenistan's civil aviation authority, plans are to launch flights on the route between Istanbul and Turkmenistan's Turkmenbashi Airport "in the near future", and Pegasus is soon to open a new office at the airport.
Already operating flights on the route is the Turkmen carrier Turkmenistan Airlines.
An other new operator at Turkmenbashi Airport in 2015 is Cargolux that has been operating a freighter service into the airport from June this year.
